Super Bowl LX Sees the Pats vs. Seahawks in Santa Clara

A new NFL champion will be crowned with Drake Maye and the AFC champion New England Patriot facing Sam Darnold and the NFC champion Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

This will be a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX on February 1, 2015, at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, when the Patriots’ Malcolm Butler intercepted Russell Wilson at the goal-line as NE won 28-24 for their fifth of six Super Bowl wins.

Seattle has been to the Super Bowl four times now, with the Seahawks losing to the Steelers in 2006 (21-10), beating the Broncos in 2014 for their only NFL championship (43-8), and then losing to the Patriots in that aforementioned Super Bowl in 2015.

New England has played in the Super Bowl more times than any other team in NFL history (11), winning six Super Bowls (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX, XLIX, LI, LIII) and losing five, with legendary QB Tom Brady taking home the Super Bowl MVP a record five times.

Brady appeared in more Super Bowls than any other player (10) and won it seven times six with the Patriots and once with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. NE is tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most SB wins (6), and can pass them with a win at the Field of Jeans in this 60th Super Bowl.

The game will be televised on NBC and Telemundo in the US, will stream live on NFL+ and Peacock, and can be heard on the radio on the iconic network Westwood One.

Puerto Rican King of Latin Trap Bad Bunny will be the halftime performer at SB LX at Levi’s Stadium in suburban San Francisco, where at the pregame Opening Ceremony, punk rock legends Green Day, Brandi Carlile, Coco Jones, and Charlie Puth will all perform.

The Super Bowl LX logo is “LX” for the Roman numeral 60, marking the 60th anniversary of the game, with the pink, blue, green, and yellow colors representing a California sunset. SF Bay Area landmarks like redwood trees and the Golden Gate Bridge are also included.

Who’s Playing in Super Bowl LX and How Did They Get Here?

Under first-year Head Coach Mike Vrabel, the New England Patriots (16-3) won the AFC East division and were the #2 seed in the AFC Playoffs. The Patriots beat the Chargers in the Wild Card Round (16-3), defeated the Texans in the Divisional Round (28-16), both at home, before beating Denver on the road in the AFC Championship Game (10-7).

Head Coach Mike Macdonald and the Seattle Seahawks (15-3) won the NFC West division and were the #1 seed in the NFC Playoffs. The Seahawks had a first-round bye and defeated their divisional rivals, the Rams, in the Divisional Round (31-27) and the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game (41-6), both at Lumen Field in Seattle.

Online oddsmakers DraftKings have made WRs Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, and Seattle 4.5-point favorites over Cardi B’s boyfriend Stefon Diggs, Hunter Henry, and NE, with the Seahawks priced at -230 in the Moneyline market (bet $230 to win $100).

The Total (Points) in the game was at 45.5 nine days before kickoff. Underdogs of 4.5 points or more have covered the point spread seven straight Super Bowls and gone 12-2-1 ATS since Super Bowl 30, over 30 years ago, before Drake Maye was even born.

This is also a very improbable Super Bowl matchup with both teams huge longshots before the season started. The Pats were priced at 80/1 to 100/1 while the Seahawks were 60/1, marking the first time in over 50 years both SB participants had odds of 50/1 or more.

About the Super Bowl

The Super Bowl was born in almost accidental fashion back in 1967 when the NFL (National Football League) and AFL (American Football League) merged. Formerly the AFL-NFL World Championship Game, the Super Bowl name caught on after Super Bowl III.

Lamar Hunt, the then-owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, jokingly used the phrase “Super Bowl,” associating the big AFL-NFL game with a children’s toy called the “Super Ball.” Now the biggest sporting event annually in the US, the Super Bowl, is like a national holiday.

The winners of the Super Bowl are awarded the Vince Lombardi Trophy, named for legendary Green Bay Packers Head Coach Vince Lombardi, who guided GB to the first-ever Super Bowl win in 1967 against Hunt and Hank Stram’s Kansas City Chiefs.

Of the 59 Super Bowls played heading into Sunday, the NFC has won 30 times with the AFC winning 29 times, meaning that if the Patriots can win their record 7th Super Bowl, the all-time series will be tied 30-30 heading into next year’s SB at SoFi Stadium in Lalaland.

Four poor teams in the NFL have still never made it to the Super Bowl: the Cleveland Browns, the Detroit Lions, the Houston Texans, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

About Levi’s Stadium

Levi’s Stadium is an outdoor sports stadium located in the San Francisco Bay Area in Santa Clara, California, USA, and is the home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers. Santa Clara is located just west of San José and 40 miles (64 km) south of San Francisco.

The stadium has been home to the 49ers since 2014 and is named after the famous blue jeans maker Levi Strauss (& Co.), who bought its naming rights in 2013. The stadium is owned by the Santa Clara Stadium Authority and operated by the Forty Niners Football Club LLC.

Levi’s Stadium is located at 4900 Marie P. DeBartolo Way, and it has 174 executive suites. The playing surface is friendly Bermuda Grass, and the largest crowd to ever take over the place was 80,000 for an Ed Sheeran concert on the +−=÷× Tour on September 16, 2023.

This will be the second Super Bowl played at Levi’s Stadium. On February 7, 2016, the Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers, 24-10, at the still young and hardly washed Field of Jeans, where 71,088 were in attendance, with Coldplay as the halftime show.
