F1 WAGs: 2024 Update

The drivers are not the only ones getting attention on the grid, the women in their lives, or WAGs (wives and girlfriends) gain significant attention as well. Here is what we know so far about the WAGs of F1 this 2024 season.

Max Verstappen

Max Verstappeen’s girlfriend Kelly Piquet is a 35-year-old Brazilian model, columnist, blogger, and PR professional who once dated Russian F1 driver Daniil Kvyat, with who she had a daughter (Penelope) in 2019. The two broke up that same year.

Belgian and Dutch F1 driver Verstappen (26)—the winner of the last three F1 World Drivers’ Championships and the points leader again this season for Red Bull Racing—began dating Piquet in 2020 and the couple made their relationship known to the public in 2021. The two met at a group dinner with Kelly’s brother Nelson Piquet Jr. in Monaco.

Verstappen will look to defend wins in 2023 in the US at the upcoming 2024 United States Grand Prix and the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc

Twenty-six-year-old Charles Leclerc’s girlfriend Alexandra Saint Mleux is a 21-year-old Art History student and TikToker. Monégasque driver Leclerc drives for Ferrari and currently sits in third place in the 2024 F1 Driver Standings. He split with Charlotte Sine, his longtime girlfriend, in December 2022 and has been seeing Saint Mleux since the summer of 2023.

Carlos Sainz. Jr.

Carlos Sainz Jr.’s girlfriend Rebecca Donaldson is a 29-year-old model and social media star who is represented by Brand Model Management and has been on the covers of Vogue Ukraine and Marie Claire México. Donaldson is from a town called Scone in central Scotland and came to notoriety after she appeared on the red carpet with Scott Disick at the 2022 premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Spaniard Sainz Jr. races for Ferrari, like teammate Leclerc, and was first linked with Donaldson in the summer of 2023, shortly after his break up with Spanish journalist Isa Hernáez, who he dated for almost seven years.

Oscar Piastri

Oscar Piastri’s girlfriend Lily Zneimer is 23 years old—the same age as Australian Oscar—and is an engineering graduate and an F1 photographer. Piastri, who just joined the F1 circuit this year and drives for McLaren and who has won the Formula 2 title

The two have been in a long-term relationship since Piastri met Zneimer at boarding school in England in their second-to-last year attending Haileybury in Hertford, just north of London. Rookie Piastri won his first F1 race at the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix.

Pierre Gasly

Twenty-eight-year-old Alpine team French driver Pierre Gasly’s girlfriend Francisca Gomes is a 21-year-old Portuguese model and the daughter of TV presenter Maria Vieira de Campos Cerqueira Gomes and Pure McLaren Drive driver Gonçalo Gomes.

Although the two haven’t confirmed the status of their relationship for some time, they have been linked since 2022 and have tried to keep their romance low-key.

George Russell

George Russell’s girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt is a 26-year-old beauty who was born in Spain in 1998 but moved to the United Kingdom at age 18. Mundt is a graduate of the University of Westminster where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Finance.

Mundt works in London at the investment company W1 Investment and met Russell in 2020 where they made their relationship public at the 2020 Tuscan Grand Prix. Russell and Mundt attended the world premiere of the James Bond Movie No Time To Die in 2021.

Brit Russell is 26 years old and drives for Mercedes and finished in fourth place in the F1 Driver standings in 2022. Russell began in Karting when he was just 7 years old where he went on to become the MSA British champion and British Open champ and he is the esteemed director of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association.

Sergio Pérez

One of the three F1 drivers who is happily married, 34-year-old Mexican Sergio Pérez drives for Red Bull Racing and has six F1 wins so far in his career, and the first ever for a driver from Mexico. His older brother Antonio is a retired stock car driver who raced in the NASCAR Mexico Series.

Sergio Pérez’s wife Carola Martinez (Galindo) is 26 years old and Is a native of Guadalajara—the same city in which Pérez was born. The couple became engaged in 2017, were married in 2018 and the two are now the proud parents of four children.

Alexander Albon

Alexander Albon’s girlfriend Lily Muni He is also a professional athlete, a 25-year-old Chinese beauty, and a member of the LPGA since 2019. Nicknamed “Lily,” He attended USC, has one win on the LPGA Tour, and started golfing at the tender young age of six. The two met in 2019.

Albion is a Thai and British native and drives under the flag of Thailand where he races for Williams-Mercedes and the 28-year-old has reached the podium two times but is still seeking his first F1 victory. Albon was the 2019 FIA Rookie of the Year and finished in 13th place in the 2023 Driver Standings last season.

Kevin Magnussen

Kevin Magnussen’s wife Louise Gjørup went to high school in the district of Valby in Copenhagen, Denmark, graduating in 2004. Gjørup then attended Læreruddannelserne Metropol in Frederiksberg, Denmark (2013-2017) and studied Danish Education, Sports, and Biology.

The two kept their relationship low-key and were married in a private ceremony in 2019. They welcomed their baby daughter, Louise, into the world in January 2023. Russell revealed that Louise was seven weeks premature.

Magnussen is 31 years old, a native of Denmark, and drives for Haas Racing. He has just one podium finish and is still seeking his first F1 checkered flag.

Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso’s girlfriend Melissa Jiménez is a 37-year-old sports journalist from Spain who currently works for the DAZN network. Jiménez is also a pop singer and best known for competing in the 2014 season of The Voice (NBC) where her last performance was a cover of the Beyoncé hit song “Halo.”

Alonso is 43 years old and drives for Aston Martin now and the Formula One vet has 32 wins. Before this relationship with Jiménez, Alonso was married to Spanish singer Raquel de Rosario for 5 years before they got divorced in 2011. Before that, Alonso dated Andrea Schlager, an Austrian TV presenter, but they went their separate ways in 2023.

There was also a rumor Alonso was dating pop icon Taylor Swift, but the two quickly denied that they were an item.

Franco Colapinto

Franco Colapinto’s girlfriend Estelle Langinier is now rumored to be back with Colapinto, a member of the Williams who hails from Argentina. After breaking up with Colapinto, Langinier dated British racer Ollie Bearman, before they split in July 2024.

Daniel Ricciardo

Daniel Ricciardo’s girlfriend Heidi Berger is a 26-year-old actress from Austria and the daughter of Austrian F1 driver Gerhard Berger, a 10-time Grand Prix winner. Riccardo, who is 35 years old and drives for Red Bull, has eight wins in F1 and is from Australia.

The two have been an item since 2021 and went public with their love in August of 2022 during a hike in California where Riccardo told a radio show, “Yeah mate, I'm in love.”

Esteban Ocon

Esteban Ocon’s girlfriend Flavy Barla is a 21-year-old medical student from Nice, France who won the title of ‘Miss Côte d’Azur’ in 2022. The couple were spotted together for the first time at the end of the 2023 F1 season in November at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ocon is also from France and drives for Alpine. He has three podium finishes and just one F1 victory, at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix.

Valtteri Bottas

Valtteri Bottas’s girlfriend Tiffany Cromwell is a 36-year-old Australian road and gravel Cyclist who rides for the UCI Women's World Canyon-SRAM. Bottas, who is 36, a native of Finland and races for Kick Sauber, has 10 wins in F1, his last coming at the 2021 Turkish Grand Prix.

Nico Hülkenberg

Nico Hülkenberg’s wife Eglė Ruškytė is a 36-year-old fashion designer from Lithuania. Hülkenberg, age 37, is a native of Germany, drives for Haas, and is still seeking his first F1 win and podium finish.

The couple met in 2015, Hülkenberg proposed to her in 2020 during a trip to Venice and they live in Monaco now. They have one child, a daughter named Noemi Sky, who was born in 2021.

Which F1 Drivers Are Currently Single?

There seem to be five drivers on the F1 circuit who are currently single, but with life in the fast lane always changing, we will see what all of their relationship statuses are a year from now. Two drivers from the United Kingdom Lando Norris (McLaren) and living legend Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) seem to fit into that category right now.

Chasing his first F1 title, Norris recently split with girlfriend Margarida Corceiro, while the 105-time winner and 39-year-old Brit Hamilton tried to keep his love life private but is assumed to be single now. Hamilton and Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger dated for about seven years.

Along with Verstappen and Leclerc, Hamilton is among the F1 drivers featured in the popular Netflix series Formula 1: Drive To Survive which debuted in March 2019.

Canadian Lance Stroll, who drives for Aston Martin, seems to have recently split with Italian model, Sara Pagliaroli and falls into the “probably single” category. One story on the Internet says Pagliaroli was last seen at the track in 2022 in Miami.

And Chinese racer Zhou Guanyu (25), who races for the Kick Sauber is currently believed to be single as is Japanese racer and 2020 FIA Rookie of the Year Yuki Tsunoda who drives for Red Bull and like Guanyu (24), still seeking his first F1 win and podium, although there were rumors circulating Tsunoda was dating his publicist, something never confirmed as the young driver tries to keep his private life out of the spotlight.
