About Megan Moroney
Megan Moroney was born Megan Ann Moroney on October 9, 1997, in Savannah, Georgia, and grew up in the western Atlanta suburb of Douglasville. She attended Robert S. Alexander High School, where she participated in cheerleading and musical theater.
Megan then went on to the University of Georgia (in Athens), where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing and a certificate in the music business and graduated in 2020. While in college, she joined the Kappa Delta sorority.
Moroney, discovered at a Waffle House benefit, was first recognized for her single, “Hair Salon,” which was included on her debut EP (Pistol Made of Roses).
Moroney released her first album in 2022 (Lucky) with the hit song “Tennessee Orange,” which shot all the way up to #10 on the charts. The song was inspired by Morgan Wallen after Moroney moved to Nashville, home of the Tennessee Volunteers and huge rivals of her Georgia Bulldogs in college football.
Her second album was Am I Okay? (2024) and it debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200, the first to land in the top 10. We will see how well Cloud 9 does later this Winter. Moroney confirmed she was in a relationship in 2024 but is now single after addressing rumors she was linked to Wallen.
