Kendrick Lamar and SZA Announce 2025 Tour

After years of speculation and solo projects, Kendrick Lamar and SZA have officially announced that they’re hitting the road together in 2025, and fans are already calling it the tour of the year.

The announcement dropped with little warning early Tuesday morning, sending social media into a frenzy. The tour, titled “The Championship Tour II”, is a nod to their iconic 2018 run and promises to deliver a fresh take with brand new music, live collaborations, and a deeper dive into their shared creative universe.

Both Kendrick and SZA have had huge years. Kendrick put out The Heart Part 6 at the end of 2024, and a lot of people saw it as a return to what he does best — honest, personal lyrics mixed with sharp social commentary. It reminded everyone why he’s one of the most respected names in rap. As for SZA, her album LANA hasn’t left the charts since it dropped. It’s been everywhere — streaming, radio, TikTok — and fans can’t get enough. She’s clearly at the top of her game, and this tour feels like perfect timing for both of them.

The 2025 tour will span 30 cities across North America and Europe, kicking off in Los Angeles in August before heading to New York, Toronto, London, Paris, and more. While the full setlist is still under wraps, fans can expect both solo hits and live duets — and let’s be real, if they perform “All the Stars” together again, we’re all crying.

In a joint statement, Kendrick and SZA said, “We’ve grown a lot as artists, but our creative connection is still strong. This tour is about celebrating that — and giving fans something real.”

Who Might Open for Kendrick and SZA?

While nothing’s been confirmed yet, fans are already guessing who could be joining Kendrick and SZA on the road. Since both artists are closely tied to Top Dawg Entertainment, there’s a good chance we’ll see some familiar names from the label.

Doechii is one of the top picks — she’s been gaining momentum fast and would be a perfect fit with her sharp lyrics and fearless stage presence. Ray Vaughn is another rising TDE artist who’s been turning heads, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he popped up on the lineup too.

Outside of TDE, there’s some quiet buzz around Baby Keem, Kendrick’s cousin and frequent collaborator, especially since the two have shared the stage before. If he's available, he'd be a huge crowd-pleaser.

Of course, the full opener list is still under wraps, but if this tour follows the style of “The Championship Tour” in 2018, we could be in for a rotating roster of surprise guests and emerging talent, which honestly just adds to the hype.

What’s on the Setlist?

While the full setlist for Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 2025 tour hasn't been officially released, recent performances and fan discussions give us a glimpse into what might be expected.

Kendrick Lamar has been performing tracks from his latest album, GNX, including:

  • "Squabble Up"

  • "DNA."

  • "Euphoria"

  • "Man at the Garden"

  • "Peekaboo"

  • "Luther" (featuring SZA)

  • "Not Like Us"

  • "TV Off"

These songs have been featured in his recent shows, including his Super Bowl LIX halftime performance .

SZA, on the other hand, is likely to perform fan favorites from her albums Ctrl, SOS, and LANA, such as:

  • "Kill Bill"

  • "Snooze"

  • "Love Galore"

  • "Nobody Gets Me"

  • "Good Days"

  • "Saturn"

Their joint performances are anticipated to include collaborations like "All the Stars" and "Luther," which have been well-received in recent appearances.

Keep in mind, setlists can vary by show, and artists often surprise fans with unique performances or guest appearances. For the most up-to-date information, it's best to check official sources or attend the concerts to experience the full setlist firsthand.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA, how they met?

Kendrick and SZA go way back — both of them were signed to Top Dawg Entertainment pretty early on. Kendrick was already blowing up with good kid, m.A.A.d city and To Pimp a Butterfly, while SZA was still finding her sound but turning heads with her project Z. They weren’t working together right away, but they were moving in the same circles, and you could tell even back then that something was going to happen between them creatively. Though they were part of the same label family, it wasn’t until years later that their musical worlds truly collided.

Their first major collaboration came with “All the Stars”, the stunning lead single from the Black Panther soundtrack, which Kendrick curated and executive produced. The song earned multiple Grammy nominations and even an Academy Award nod, but more than that, it showed fans just how seamlessly their sounds could blend: Kendrick’s razor-sharp lyricism paired with SZA’s ethereal vocals created something unforgettable.

Since then, both artists have evolved in different directions, releasing music that explores personal growth, love, loss, and everything in between. But fans have never stopped asking when they’d join forces again. With this tour, it’s not just about nostalgia. It’s about two artists who’ve grown separately and are now coming back together, stronger and more creative than ever.
