About Foo Fighters
Foo Fighters is a rock band founded by former Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl. The American band came together in 1994 in the city of Seattle in the midst of the Grunge Era. Originally a one-man project, Grohl pulled in other members to form the band.
Foo Fighters made their first appearance in 1995 and have gone through member shifts over the years, and have released 12 albums after Your Favorite Toy drops on April 24.
The now-popular group has won 15 Grammy Awards, which has helped them to become one of the most awarded rock groups in the history of the awards. The first year they were eligible to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2021), they were granted that honor and inducted by none other than The Beatles’ legend, Paul McCartney.
Grohl was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Nirvana.
The Foo Fighters are touring for the first time with new drummer Ilan Rubin, who has played with groups like Nine Inch Nails and Paramore, after Josh Freese left in 2025. Freese had replaced Taylor Hawkins after his death in March of 2022.
The first drummer for the Foo Fighters was William Goldsmith, who quit during the recording of their second album.
