About Coachella
Coachella, one of the top music festivals worldwide, was co-founded in 1999 by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen. Officially known as the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, it is held annually at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The festival is a cultural marvel that combines various genres—rock, hip hop, electronic dance music (EDM), and indie—with stunning art installations and sculptures.
Highlights from the First Week of Coachella 2025
Lady Gaga’s Theatrical Return – Gaga headlined Friday night with a performance that felt more like a Broadway show than a festival set. Across five acts, she mixed iconic hits with new songs from
Mayhem , all tied together by stunning visuals, including a giant chessboard where she literally battled her past self. She ended the show in a three-story dress, belting “Bad Romance” and reminding everyone she’s still in a league of her own.
Jennie’s Solo Debut – Making her solo debut at Coachella, BLACKPINK’s Jennie lit up the stage with songs from Ruby, including “Mantra” and “Like Jennie.” She even brought out Kali Uchis for “Damn Right,” and her heartfelt shoutout to her crew at the end was a sweet touch.
Lisa’s Sahara Set – Lisa brought serious energy to the Sahara Tent with a high-impact performance from her album
Alter Ego. From “Born Again” to “Moonlit Floor,” she proved (again) that she can own any stage—with futuristic, glowing outfits to match.
A Mini BLACKPINK Reunion – Fans spotted Rosé and Lisa cheering Jennie on from the crowd, with big hugs and huge smiles. Jisoo couldn’t make it, but the support between the girls was impossible to miss.
Benson Boone & Brian May – One of the most unexpected moments? Benson Boone bringing out Queen’s Brian May for a surprise performance of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The crowd lost it.
Missy Elliott Went Full Futuristic – Missy turned her set into a visual overload, tearing through a medley of her biggest tracks while delivering non-stop energy and nostalgia.
Tyla & Becky G Link Up – Tyla made her Coachella debut even more special by bringing out Becky G to perform “On My Body.” The crowd vibe was pure joy.
Megan Thee Stallion’s Message – Megan wasn’t just performing, she was making a statement. With Victoria Monét and Queen Latifah joining her on stage for “U.N.I.T.Y.,” it turned into a powerful moment of empowerment.
Charli XCX Goes Big – Charli surprised everyone with back-to-back guest appearances from Troye Sivan, Lorde, and Billie Eilish. One of the most stacked sets of the weekend, hands down.
Green Day’s Coachella Debut – Yep, this was their first time at Coachella. And they didn’t disappoint. Billie Joe Armstrong even jumped in with The Go-Go’s for a surprise collab on “Head Over Heels.”
Whether it was solo debuts, iconic reunions, or moments that caught us completely off guard, the first weekend of Coachella 2025 more than delivered. And if this was just week one… week two’s got a lot to live up to.
Who Headlined Coachella 2024?
The highly anticipated lineup for Coachella 2025 is already generating buzz. In 2024, headliners included Lana Del Rey, Tyler, The Creator, and Doja Cat. For 2025, we will see Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, and Travis Scott as the Coachella 2025 headliners.
When Do Coachella Set Times Come Out?
In 2022, the hourly schedule was released on or the day before the festival. Based on that pattern, fans can expect the Coachella 2025 set times to be revealed on April 9 or 10. Keep an eye on the Coachella Mobile App a few days before the event.
