Who is Headlining Coachella 2025?
As the music world eagerly anticipates the next installment of one of the most iconic festivals in the United States, the question on everyone's lips is: Who is headlining Coachella 2025? Although we aren't sure exactly who will be playing at the festival now, the speculation around possible headliners has already gotten people talking. So let's dive into what we know so far and what the possibilities are for this hotly anticipated event.
Coachella 2025: What We Know So Far
Next year, Coachella is scheduled to return to its April norm and become the festival season's opener. The Empire Polo Club in Indio, California will once again become a musical paradise for two weekends in a row. The exact dates for the Coachella 2025 festival are April 11th to April 20th. Similar to last year, the event will happen again in mid-April.
Information regarding ticket purchase and availability can be found on the Coachella website and TicketX. Coachella tickets always go fast once the site opens, and the fact that everyone is hanging on in anticipation of the 2025 lineup doesn't help.

The Hunt for Headliners
We aren't kidding when we say festival organizers Goldenvoice are hard at work on securing headliners for Coachella 2025, which is shaping up to be one of the biggest headliner shuffles in recent memory. Headliners are extremely important to a festival, these top billed acts can sell tickets and set the tone for the entire festival experience.
But getting the perfect headlining acts is no mean feat. As every year more and more competing festivals spring up, touring schedules are getting tighter and tighter with music industry artists constantly changing in popularity. Coachella is up against a lot trying to secure their dream lineup with relevant and appealing top artists. The festival is under pressure to not only match, but exceed the star power of past years, and stay at the cutting edge of the music scene.
Rumored Headliners and Declined Offers
There is some sad news for Coachella, two big artists — Rihanna and Kendrick Lamar — have reportedly turned down offers to headline the 2025 festival. According to Bloomberg, this information has left fans and industry insiders speculating as to why the decisions have been made and who might be stepping up to fill these coveted slots.
Despite all this, potential headliners continue to fuel the rumor mill. Though, the names thrown around as possible headliners are Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny, The Cure, and Doja Cat.
Potential Headliners to Watch
While the official Coachella 2025 lineup remains under wraps, several artists are generating buzz as potential headliners:
Billie Eilish: Having already headlined in 2022, Eilish's continued success and ever-transforming artistry means she's a strong contender for a return to the top spot.
Bad Bunny: The Latin music superstar’s global appeal is just one reason he’s a prime candidate for a Coachella headlining gig.
Dua Lipa: Lipa’s disco-pop sound and ever-growing list of hits could be just the fresh energy needed on the main stage at Coachella.
Lady Gaga: In 2017, Lady Gaga was the replacement for a pregnant Beyoncé. Could she be the next contender, now that she has her new album, Harlequin, out?
Beyoncé: She gave an amazing performance in 2018, but fans are always reaching for Coachella to have the “Queen B” headline once more.
Fred again: This trio is rumored to come to Coachella again — but this time to headline.
Of course, these artists are just a drop in the ocean, with Coachella a festival known to surprise with exciting (sometimes surprising) headliner choices.
Coachella Headliners 2024
Lana Del Rey, Tyler, the Creator, and Doja Cat were the main headliners in the 2024 edition of the festival that ran over two weekends in April. A quick look back at their performance.
Lana Del Rey
Both weekends were headlined by Lana Del Rey on the Friday nights. Her return to Coachella after a decade was a triumphant one, with her mesmerizing set covering her back catalog. Guests Jon Batiste, Billie Eilish, Jack Antonoff, and Camilla Cabello appeared on Del Rey's set.
Tyler, the Creator
Tyler, the Creator made his Coachella stage debut and gave his own unique take on things with his Saturday night headline slot. It was a tour de force set, a mix of his hit songs, and collaborations. Among others, Childish Gambino, A$AP Rocky, Charlie Wilson, and Kali Uchis showed up for his performance. Tyler's setlist included fan favorites like "WusYaName," "Lumberjack," and "Earfquake".
Doja Cat
Doja Cat closed out both weekends on Sunday nights with a show-stopping performance. Her set was a visual and auditory spectacle, featuring songs from her latest album "Scarlet" as well as her earlier hits. 21 Savage, Teezo Touchdown, and A$AP Rocky guested on Doja Cat’s performance.
No Doubt (Special Performance)
Apart from the main headliners, No Doubt reunited to put on a special performance at Coachella 2024. The duo's performance was also the first they had shared together since 2015 and offered festivalgoers a nostalgic moment along with a distinctive addition to the festival's lineup. They were joined by a guest appearance from Olivia Rodrigo on their set.
The Impact of Headliners on Coachella's Success
Without headliners, Coachella wouldn’t be able to sell out its tickets or be the festival it is today. Headlining acts that are drawing power can fuel demand, with fans desperately hoping to see one-time-only performances. Headliner announcements have seen tickets sell quickly in anticipation of its announcement — often even before the rest of the lineup is even speculated!
Additionally, headline acts define each Coachella and make moments that linger into the weeks (or years) following the festival. From Beyoncé's historic 2018 performance to Daft Punk's legendary 2006 set, these headline acts become part of Coachella lore, setting the bar for future festivals.
