Who is Benson Boone?

Benson Boone is a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Monroe, Washington, born on June 25th, 2002. He was raised amongst four sisters and went to Monroe High School. While in high school, he was a member of the diving team, but during his junior year, he unexpectedly found out that he was a talented musician after his friend persuaded him to take part in a battle of the bands even though he had never sung before. The next stop of Boone’s musical path was Brigham Young University–Idaho where he stayed only one semester and then left to engage in the full-time singing career.

Benson Boone came to public attention after his audition for American Idol season 19 in 2021 when he was 18 years old. The judges were amazed by his performance, and Katy Perry saw a winning potential in him. Nevertheless, Benson took a daring step to drop out of American Idol in the middle of the season. Even though he failed to bag the title, the visibility that the show offered him rose significantly. With this newly earned fame, Boone quickly started to attract the attention of the audience on the internet, especially on TikTok where he currently has more than 6.8 million followers.
